ونکوور

ونکوور یکی از شهرهای ایالت بریتیش کلمبیا است که در واقع قسمتی از ونکوور بزرگ می باشد. این شهر در منطقه لوئر مین لند قرار گرفته و دارای بالاترین تراکم جمعیت در کانادا می باشد. این شهر یکی از مهاجرپذیرترین شهرهای جهان می باشد. عوامل بسیاری از جمله سیستم آموزشی و درمانی، سطح بالای زندگی، طبیعت زیبا و پاکیزگی شهر سبب شده تا این شهر تعداد خیلی زیادی درخواست مهاجرت داشته باشد.

تاریخچه

مطالعات باستان شناسی نشان می دهد که قدمت بومیان ونکوور به ۸۰۰۰ تا ۱۰۰۰۰ سال قبل بازمی گردد. دریانوردان اسپانیایی و جورج ونکووِر انگلیسی به ترتیب در ۱۷۹۱ و ۱۷۹۲ اولین کاشفانی بودند که آب های اطراف ونکوور را طی کردند. اروپاییان تا سال ۱۸۰۸ یعنی زمانی که سایمون فریزر و همکارانش در این منطقه پیدا شدند، حضور داشتند. جویندگان طلا در سال ۱۸۶۱ به اطراف رودخانه فریزر آمدند و در کنار آن شکل گیری کارخانه الوار سازی در سال ۱۸۶۳، باعث شدند تا شکل گیری شهر آغاز شود. در فاصله ای کم اطراف کارخانه شروع به گسترش کرد و به گزتان یا گرنویل شهرت یافت. نام گرنویل در ۶ آپریل ۱۸۸۶ به ونکوور تغییر نام دارد و ونکوور امروزی شکل گرفت.

این شهر بعد از نیویورک، سانفرانسیسکو و مکزیکو سیتی، چهارمین شهر پرجمعیت آمریکای شمالی می باشد. همچنین این شهر هفتمین شهر پرجمعیت جهان نیز می باشد. این شهر از تنوع قیومیت و زبان بسیار زیادی برخوردار است. به طوریکه تقریباً ۵۲% از مردم این شهر زبان اولی غیر از زبان انگلیسی دارند. همچنین ونکوور به طور دائم و به صورت سالانه جزء پنج شهر برتر جهان از نظر کیفیت زندگی می شود.

تاکنون این شهر میزبان کنفرانس ها و رویدادهای بین المللی بسیاری از جمله بازی های امپراتوری بریتانیا و کشورهای مشترک المنافع در سال ۱۹۵۴، سازمان ملل متحد، المپیک زمستان ۲۰۱۷ و … بوده است. در سال ۲۰۱۴ نیز، پس از سی سال در کانادا، کنفرانس سالانه TDE ایجاد شد و این شهر به خانه همیشگی آن تبدیل شد.

آب و هوا

ونکوور آب و هوایی معتدل دارد که میانگین دمای هوا در گرم ترین ماه سال یعنی اوت ۲۲ و در سردترین ماه سال یعنی ژانویه ۵/۰- می باشد. پارک استنلی که بزرگ ترین پارک شهری در کل آمریکای شمالی می باشد در این شهر قرار دارد.
